(MONETA) A 2 vehicle head on collision that killed one of four people involved was caused by a sneeze, according to one of the drivers.
The crash happened yesterday afternoon on highway 20/26 just a few miles into Natrona County past Moneta.
Passenger Laure C. Brown of Ashburn Va. died at the scene. The survivors of the crash are 52 year old James Edward of Ashburn Va., 44 year old Brett Hutchison of Riverton, and 22 year old Tetaten Hutchison of Riverton, who all remain hospitalized with unknown injuries.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Edward was westbound on US 20/26 and Hutchison was eastbound. Edward stated to Troopers that he sneezed and that caused him to jerk the vehicle into the eastbound lane. Upon seeing an eastbound vehicle in his lane Hutchison then swerved into the unoccupied westbound lane. Edward then swerved back into the westbound lane where the two vehicles collided head-on. After impact, the Hutchison vehicle went onto the northbound shoulder and overturned one complete revolution, coming to rest facing north on the shoulder. The Edward vehicle rotated and came to rest in the westbound lane just west of the impact area. The airbags did deploy in both vehicles.
